Woodside Playground is nothing fancy - but it's a goodie and popular with local kids and their families for a few reasons. Firstly, it is shaded by huge old trees which make it one of the few attractive playgrounds in the area in the Summer. Also, there is a good mix of equipment for toddlers and school age children, which can be hard to find in other nearby playgrounds. Again, the equipment is by no means fancy, although it has been recently updated. There are swings for big and little kids, slippery dips for littlies and their bigger siblings, climbing equipment, a little cubby house etc...all very simple, but enough in quantity and variety to keep kids happy. There is a picnic table and chairs within the fenced playground area, and just outside of that, in second fenced area, is a shelter, bbqs and more tables and chairs. There are toilets and a bike ramp adjacent to the playground. It is a great spot for birthday parties as the kids can play safely in the fenced area, while adults can relax around the bbq and watch the kids; again, the bbq area is beautifully shaded. There is lots of parking and nearby facilities such as bakeries, supermarket, servicve station etc. If you are out for a drive in the Adelaide Hills and want somewhere to pull over for a coffee and a sandwich while the kids burn up some energy, this simple playground is a winner for adults and kids alike.
