Comfort Manual Breast Pump

The Comfort manual breast pump has a higher level of effectiveness for both the baby and mother. Philips AVENT’s unique massage cushion with soft petals gently compresses the breast to stimulate milk flow, cleverly mimicking the baby’s natural suckling behavior.

I only used it for 6 months a couple of times a week but found it easy to use and easy to clean.

If i was going to express on a regular basis I would probably get an automatic pump though

I have been using the pump for about a month now and have found it extremely easy to use. It is comfortable on the breast and the handle to pump is easy. I have found that I need to reposition the pump several times for it to be more effective. It is quiet to use and super easy to clean and sterilise as it pulls completely apart. The pump action handle is comfortable and easy to use. The soft cup for the breast is very comfortable and effective at getting the most breast milk from each pump. I found I could vary the suction by the amount of shallow pumps I did to begin with to help the let-down process, I have found this pump more effective and comfortable than an electric pump of a different brand. The Avent Comfort Manual Pump is portable so I have been able to take it with me when spending time at my mum's house to keep up our pump routine.

I have found that it has helped my supply and allowed me a small amount of freedom being able to give my baby a bottle of expressed breast milk. I will continue to use the pump for the duration of our breastfeeding days.

I'm surprised how comfortable it really was, I could sit up straight on the lounge and it kept the suction really well. I didn't like to have to manually pump as it hurt my hand after about 20 mins and I had to stop but for those that need to pump every so often for relief or at work it would be great. It got a good flow going and stimulated my nipples enough for a let-down. Great quality plastic and made very well. I would recommend to casual pumpers.

I have been using a hospital grade pump since my prem daughter was born due to issues with latching, but was struggling to ever leave the house because I had to pump around the clock to keep my supply up. So I was thrilled when I got this pump to try out.

The first time I used it I was amazed at how quickly it can empty my breasts! I can express for 10 minutes top and get a about 100ml, whereas with my hospital grade pump I was pumping for 20mins+ to get the same amount. I couldn't believe it.

It's easy to use, and you don't have to lean forward in your chair with perfect posture like with most pumps. You start off with quick short pumps to get the milk flowing then settle in to longer, slower pumps at your own comfort which I really like, you control the speed etc.

The only thing I can fault is I have to move the pump around to get the milk flowing every couple of minutes, so I find I can't "relax" while pumping as I'm always watching to see how quickly my milk is flowing. It's also not a pump if you want to express exclusively, as it does get tiring. But it is the perfect pump for expressing occasionally or when you are out and about and can just have it in your bag.

Overall, I am really happy with this pump and would recommend it to anyone.
