You Sexy Mother
Wrapped up in a stylishly enticing cover, “You Sexy Mother - The Journal”, I just couldn't wait to get inside and read this book cover to cover. However, when I started reading, I realised it is much more reflective and though provoking then first anticipated, and had to have a few breaks to think it all over.
This book is too the point, easy to read, and not “preachy” like some other self-help/motivational books. The reflection questions really made you ponder where you are in life, and able to really look at why things might not be working how you hoped they would.
As this book seems to be an extension of Jodie’s full version “You Sexy Mother”… I can’t help but feel like I am missing out on something when I first picked up the book. Once I got past the first few chapters, and on to the reflection questions, I felt like it all made sense.
The highlights of this book were the beautifully presented inspirational quotes scattered throughout the pages, and the last 1/3 of the book, “The 10 Day Turnaround Plan”. This really put into focus just how easy things are to change and that really, if I want something, I can do it!
I recommend this book to any mother who is just waiting to be empowered, any mother who is looking for direction, looking for guidance, or simply to help them figure out who they are again. Although I don’t feel I am at the stage in life where I need to be empowered, I still found this book incredibly uplifting. It really helped me to re-focus on my goals and zone in on what type of person I want myself to be!
