I was given this book as a gift when DD #1 was first born.

It has some great information about first foods and progression to solids with lots of great recipes .  The recipes combine lots of different foods with some great ideas for keeping it interesting for the child.

I didn't end up using it much though as I decided to go down the 'baby led weaning' path which for those that don't know is starting baby on finger foods from the beginning.  This option was great for my family and we have had lots of fun eating together this way with both DDs.  It is well worth some researching on this as a different option for starting solid food.

I didnt' buy this until DD was 1, but it would have been really handy from the very start.

Has easy to follow sections on pre-solids, introducing solids and then working from purees up to meals.

Great recipes that can be altereted to suit the whole family.

Annabel has a nice tone to her writing that doesn't make me feel silly when I read her work!

Would recommmend this - a great gift for a new mum as she'll keep coming back to it time and time again.

I got this for baby food and toddler meals and have only used a few recipes from it. I found alot of the toddler ones a bit complicated for a meal to prepare ontop of our meals. Now my sons 3 I never bother looking anymore. The thing I most enjoyed about it was the advice on each section ie babies, starting solids, introducing new foods etc and found that advice invaluable but I really bought it for recipe ideas. I never cooked for my baby because he hated my cooking! (likes it as a toddler so phew) so I didnt get as much use out of it as I would have liked. Overall a decent buy and would of been better value if I hadnt of paid over $40 for it.  It has beautiful pictures to illustrate alot of the foods and lovely little icons to indicate if it could be frozen which was good. It also has little faces so that you can tick on each page if your baby/toddler enjoyed it or not - very helpful for when your tired and cant remember if its been tried.
I've had this book for a few years now and I still refer to it for some simple recipes and ideas. It has a great section on first foods and weaning baby with a menu planner which I found was great. When it got to the toddler section there was some recipes which I've tried and others which I've not. I wasn't really impressed with all the recipes and I don't use it as often. It's more suited to meet the needs of babies so if you're looking for more toddler recipes then check out her other books.
