I’m in my 40s but even I got a kick out of putting myself into some of Disney’s greatest movies and adventures!
However the most fun for me was that Disney Infinity is a great game for playing with your kids!
Sure it is not as challenging as some games for older gamers but those games are in no way appropriate for little ones.
After your son stops enjoying beating up your character (with cheers from his sisters and young cousins) there is lots to do and there is something for everyone.
We had kids – aged 3-12 – engrossed in the action as well as adults.
Swapping who was in control and encouraging each other during tasks against various bad guys was a fun evening for all involved.
We only have three characters so far but each world that a figurine unlocks has a range of challenges and tasks that keeps the entire family entertained.
We are looking forward to getting more figurines from the same set so that we can team up on challenges.
We are also in (quite fierce) discussions over which figurines to get next so we can unlock and explore new worlds!
What I also liked was that the Pirates world was a lot more kid-friendly than the movies are, particularly for the little ones, and it was my favourite of the three worlds we currently have access to.
I have to say that some of the challenges can be … well challenging, particularly the bike riding ones in Monsters University, but most are doable and most importantly make little brains think.
We started building our own world in the Toy Box at the start but figured out quite quickly that it helps to do challenges and explore the figurines world’s to unlock loads of additional items for building your own world.
Frankly we have not spent too much time on that yet because we are having so much fun in the worlds created for us by Disney.
Better still with just 1 additional figurine we open up a whole new world and hours of gaming.
So while it is still very early days in our Disney Infinity experience our entire family is enjoying the ride and looking forward to opening up more worlds very soon!
