Healthy Chocolate Mousse

chocmousseThere are very few of us who don’t need a little chocolate fix every once in a while.  In my case, it’s about three times a day!

Until now, I’d been buying some gorgeous organic dark chocolate that’s full of organic antioxidant goodness and eating just one square every so often – oh, who am I kidding – ok, so a whole bar at a time.

But I’ve discovered this little gem of a recipe that’s healthy, natural, bursting with antioxidants and omega-3, easy-peasy to make and curbs my choccy cravings with just a teaspoon or two.  And you’ll never guess what the magic ingredient is…

Healthy Chocolate Mousse

Ingredients

  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 25g cacao powder
  • 120ml agave syrup
  • 1 tsp orange rind

Instructions

  1. Place all the items in a bowl and blend with a stick mixer.

Stores well in the fridge for several days.

You can adjust quantities to taste – for example, I sometimes leave out the orange rind altogether.

Agave syrup is available at larger supermarkets or health food stores.  Cacao powder is available at healthfood stores.
