4 simple ways to follow your heart

Don’t believe me? Then stop listening to the voice in your head and live more by your heart and you might just change your life for the better.

Your heart already knows you’re beautiful, courageous and wise so why not let it rule your life instead of your head which only wants to you stress, worry and be afraid?

Here are 4 simple ways to get started …

1. Recognise that you don’t have to be in control of everything.

We struggle so hard to make sure things are ‘right’ or ‘perfect‘ and get so stressed in the process and often our attempts don’t work anyway. So just let go of needing things to be a certain way and you’ll find that life has its way of working things out without you having to do much!

2. Let your thoughts drift away and feel your heart.

You’re heart is brave and adventurous, yet your head thinks you need to protect yourself and wants be careful about life which means we end up living boring ‘safe’ lives that don’t seem to mean anything. Instead of listening to all the worries and concerns in your head lie down on the grass and just feel your heart. By letting your thoughts drift away, you’ll be able to feel what your heart wants. You’re a loving person, so don’t let your head get in the way of knowing that.

3. Watch less TV.

Sure I know TV is a good babysitter and offers some peace and for a busy mum, but the constant noise and advertising creates a certain underlying level of stress. Be a back to basics parent – get outside more and enjoy the sunshine, plant a veggie garden with the kids, go to the museum or just starting drawing or painting.

4. Don’t be afraid to do something for yourself.

It’s only our way too logical mind that thinks we should be doing everything for everyone else to the detriment of ourselves. What a load of dog poo I reckon. Get out there and treat yourself, you deserve it; you’re just as special as everyone else.


Just choose one thing to start with and see how much of a change it can make. You won’t lose anything by trying, so give it a go.
