Kids love a craft activity — especially on the school holidays or in the lead up to a celebration.
And there are many benefits for children too! Craft can help increase a child’s hand-eye coordination, fine motor skills, dexterity and is a great boost for their confidence and self-esteem.
Here are 5 easy DIY Easter craft activities that you can do with your children in the lead up to Easter.
5 easy DIY Easter craft activities for children
Easter Bunny greeting card
Step 1: Gather your supplies: a rectangle shaped piece of card (folded in two), a square piece of decorative card with hole cut in the middle, glue, coloured paper, bow.
Step 2: Cut out Easter bunny shapes out of the paper (see below).
Step 3: Glue the decorative piece of card to the front of the card.
Step 4: Paste the Easter Bunny body in the centre of the card.
Step 5: Create the Easter Bunny ears and glue them onto the card.
Step 6: Glue the bow on the left-hand side of the front on the card.
Step 7: Let the glue dry before writing your Easter message on the inside of the card.
Easter Bunny lolly cup
Step 1: Gather your supplies: 3 plastic cups, cardboard, glue-on eyes, scissors and glue.
Step 2: Cut Easter Bunny ears, nose, mouth and teeth out of cardboard.
Step 3: Create ears and mouth and glue ears to the cup.
Step 4: Glue the Easter Bunny’s eyes and mouth to the cup.
Step 5: Fill with lollies and enjoy!
Easter Bunny lollipops
Step 1: Gather your supplies: lollipops, styrofoam balls, glue, scissors, felt-tip marker, piece of pink felt, piece of white felt.
Step 2: Push lollipop sticks throw the styrofoam balls.
Step 3: Draw ear and foot shapes onto the felt and cut out.
Step 4: Glue Easter Bunny ears and feet onto the lollipop/styrofoam body.
Step 5: Use a felt-tip pen to draw faces on the Easter Bunnies.
Easter Bunny lolly bags
Step 1: Gather your supplies: Pieces of decorative paper, Easter Bunny shape to use as cut-out, stapler, ziplock plastic bags, scissors, pencil, ribbon.
Step 2: Fold the decorative paper into three parts (two equal sides and a base). Trace and cut out the Easter Bunny shape on one side.
Step 3: Fold over the ends of the card and staple the plastic bag (filled with lollies) inside the back edge of the paper.
Step 4: Bring the two ends of the paper together. Poke holes through the paper and secure with a ribbon.
Felt Easter Egg gift tags
Step 1: Gather your supplies: Felt (three different colours), needle and 3 different colours threads, scissors, button and ribbon.
Step 2: Cut out your Easter egg shape x 2, flower shape and two petals.
Step 3: Sew the leaves onto the Easter egg with different colour thread. Use thread to create interesting pattern in leaf.
Step 4: Stitch the flower’s stem then secure the flower onto the Easter Egg by sewing the button.
Step 5: Fold over a small piece of ribbon and secure it by stitching the two pieces of the Easter Egg together with a different colour thread.
Step 6. Finish stitching the two sides of the egg together.
