Dr Elissa Pearson

Dr Elissa Pearson is a lecturer in developmental and conservation psychology at UniSA Online who specialises in how people – particularly children – connect with the natural world.

She is passionate about applying psychological knowledge and methodologies to contemporary societal issues, and has a particular interest in environmental education, protecting endangered species, and the ways in which spending time in nature supports our physical and psychological well-being.

As an educator, Elissa draws on her research and professional experiences facilitating nature-based programs for children to draw connections between theory, research, and practical applications of psychological knowledge.
