7 mobile apps our Bub Hub mums love!

7mobileappsThere’s an app for everything – from information about your baby’s in utero development, to games for when your kids (or you!) are feeling bored, and to up-to-date news of the world – local and global. Here are 7 mobile apps that our Bub Hub mums love – and use all the time.

Lactation mom

This app tells you what medications are okay while breastfeeding, as well as, environmental contaminants, diseases, and herbal substances. This great app will tell you just what you can and can’t do while breastfeeding, so you never have to worry if your environment, current medication, illnesses, or herbal supplements you may be taking will be detrimental to you or your baby while you are breastfeeding. This app costs a few dollars, but you can try it out for free for a set timeframe – get Lactation Lite – just to be sure if you can really benefit from this app.

What to expect: pregnancy

With this app, you can keep informed about your baby’s developmental progress from day one. You can track your pregnancy week by week and use a range of features like:

  • Due date calculator
  • Week-by-week details on your baby’s growth and development
  • Weekly baby illustrations
  • Updates on your changing body
  • Slideshow of your belly pictures
  • Countdown to your due date!

ABC for kids

All of your kids’ favourite songs and videos are right here at your fingertips! You can watch great videos with Bananas in Pyjamas or Giggle and Hoot, or listen to much loved ABC music.

Emergency AUS – provides real-time information about official weather warnings, incident reports, and gives you the most accurate and up-to-date information so you can make good and quick decisions should an emergency arise.

Shopping list

A high-tech, fancy app that allows you to manage your shopping list, and even have other people add to your list from their phone! You can customise the app to your liking and finally skip the scraps of paper that I know I end up losing half the time – or forgetting to pick up as I leave the house!

Wonder weeks

This app shows you all the developmental stages your baby goes through after birth and up to 20 months. It has all the information you could want about the leaps and bounds your baby is making in developmental progress – you can understand exactly what your baby is learning every step of the way, all from your mobile.

And, of course, The Bub Hub!

You already know how great the site is – especially our buzzing forum that has its own app!

  1. Everyone should check out TinyBeans App. I’ve been using it for 18mths now and will be using it no matter how old my kids get. It’s like a family photo/video journal and you can add your notes for each photo also. Similar to FaceBook I guess but only available to view by family Etc that you add. I really do love this app. Check it out for yourself.
