5 things to do with kids in Adelaide

Things To Do AdelaideAdelaide has a lot to offer to keep the kids busy!

Check out these awesome things to do with your kids.

Both educational and entertaining, these places will leave the kids wanting more of Adelaide – whether you live there, are visiting, or just passing through.

Cleland Wildlife Park

Animal lovers will adore this Wildlife Park, and it’s filled with native, Aussie animals! Get up close with some of Australia’s most iconic animals in a natural, bushland setting. It is situated in Cleland Conservation Park, but is still only 20 minutes south of the city centre.

Cleland Wildlife Park is the perfect day trip for kids – and adults – to enjoy some outdoors adventures with great Aussie animals. Check out the café and gift shop too to see what food and souvenir delights you can try or take home too.

National Railway Museum Port Adelaide

Is your little one into trains? They’d have a blast at the National Railway Museum Port Adelaide! Keep the kids entertained while they learn about railway history, and how trains and railway equipment looked in the “olden days”.

You can take train rides with the family, and spend the day wandering from exhibit to exhibit. There is even an intricate model railway where you and the kids can see how the old tracks used to look!

Adelaide Zoo

Another one for the furry friends – Adelaide Zoo houses an assortment of exotic and native animals your kids will love to see up close. There are over 1800 different animals, and 300 different species at this zoo – why not make a game and see if the kids can find them all?

Adelaide Zoo has a Children’s Zoo exhibit that lets the kids get hands on with some animals. They can hold and feed a range of animals – just make sure they don’t get so attached that they want to take one home!

Adelaide Ice Arena

Make your trip a little chillier by visiting Adelaide’s Ice Arena. Get the kids out on skates and enjoying the winter chills (even if you visit in Summer). If you catch them at the right time, The Ice Arena has games and prizes up for grabs in different events they schedule throughout the year.

From beginners to pros, everyone will enjoy a day skating around – and you’ll almost be guaranteed the kids will be well worn-out by the time you leave (and you might just be too).

West Beach Mini Golf

Take the kids out for a family fun day playing mini golf! Make up your own competitions like who can get the first hole in one, or who can get the best overall score, and you’ll have fun for hours.

With food and drink available, West Beach Mini Golf is a great place for a fun day out on a beautiful day. They even do kids’ parties if your little one wants to take all their friends for a fun day too.

Check out our Things to Do with Kids Hub for more great ideas when on holiday.
