Default How much on fruit and veg a week?

Hi, how much do you spend on fruit and veges a week?

    How many in your family?

How much stuff do you get for that price?

P.s. This is for fruit and veg only, pls do not include meats, bread etc.

Just trying to see if I'm doing better with value for money in this area.

I spend anywhere between $35 - $70 a week on fruit and veges each week. It really depends if I go to a fruit store or if I get it all at the supermarket.

    How many in your family?

There are 5 of us, although DH is only here 6 days out of each month (if that) as he works and lives interstate.

How much stuff do you get for that price?

I get a good variety of both fruit and vegies. Sometimes we do run out of the fav fruits before the end of the week, so sometimes I may spend more.

I'd estimate I spend about $30 if I'm shopping at Woolies that week, or maybe $40+ at the Organic Shop.
That's per week, we have four in our family, but only 2 adults and a toddler that's a bit fussy, so I'd say we buy for 2.5 people

I get diff stuff all the time, depends what looks good, what I'm cooking, and what's in season.

But on an average week, I'd probably get:

    A bag of carrots
    2 broccollis
    2 zucchinis
    half a pumpkin
    a bag of potatoes

    half a watermelon
    a hand of bananas
    6-8 apples
some other fruit that looks yummy

    I NEVER buy tomatoes

I spend about $40 a fortnight and that is cos i get it from the markets..

    I get

    1x pumpkin
    heaps of potatoes
    1x cauliflower
    2x brocolli
    celery
    zucchini
    squash
    whole cabbage
    onions
    a sweet potato
    snowpeas
    avocado
    bag tomatoes
    bag carrots
    cucumber
    1x lettuce
    bag mushies
    few corn cobs

    2kgs apples
    bunch bananas
    few oranges

in summer add about $10 more on a fortnight so approx $50 cos i would get alot more fruit such as some melons, grapes, few types of stone fruit, pineapple etc..

Thats for 2 adults and a 22month old.. (and bubs in my tum, im eating for two.. )

    So around $20 - $25 a week..

    My markets are great..

    I usaully spend about $40

    3 in our family

    And for that I get

    4kg Potatoes
    2kg Gold Sweet potato
    1kg White sweet potato
    1kg tomatoes
    1kg Broccoli
    1kg Apples
    4 bananas
    2kg Carrots
    1 cauliflower
    2 Zucchinis
    Bunch Shallots

    and thats about it....

sometimes I get lettuce, pears, grapes, as well...and some other stuff but my headached mind wnt let me remember...

So judging by what you get you got your value for money.....I'm in Brissy, and the fruit & veg shops are so expensive, or the ones with cheap stuff, it usually goes off really quickly

Thanks girls. Sounds like I'm doing alright then. As it is all high quality stuff, really nice and fresh.
