I am really curious too see what everyone's opinion is. Well I am really in need of a holiday as I havn't been on too many in my life.
But what I would absolutely love to do is take my nephew to Queensland to some of the theme parks as he always see's them on ads and talks about them. He is not a real clingy child and very mature, smart and has no problem staying with me. He has spent many weekends staying in Perth with me. He is 3 1/2 now but by the time we would end up going would be closer to 4. We are very close. Another reason is otherwise he will never get to go as my BIL hates planes and my sister wont go ANYWHERE without her DH.
I am pretty sure my sister would be fine with me taking him, but it's just the BIL that might have a problem.
What I am trying to say is would you let your child go on holiday with their Aunty?

How old is he, LM ?
I probably wouldn't have a problem if he's primary school age (8ish+) if you've already babysat him heaps and you both know what you're in for.
And what about money - would you shout him ? I'd feel uncomfortable with that but wouldn't want to have to pay you heaps either.

TBH, I wouldn't let my DD go to QLD from Perth (I'm in WA) with my parents - whom I love to death and trust implicitly - at 3 1/2 - 4 years old.

I don't have a sister but no I wouldn't let my child of that age go. Even though I know you would take excellent care of your nephew, I wouldn't be able to relax the whole time he was gone, just a bit too young.
