Yes I ‘ve been lurking for ever. Lol
Are you planning to go to Greece? I can’t believe that I am Greek with all my family there and I can’t go for Egg donation. Before Covid I could have easily jump on the plane and be there within a week.
It’s so much cheaper than Oz even with the flights and accommodation (for you guys) included.
I am having the “pregnancy “ test tomorrow of my 4th failed IVF. I am bleeding already so I know it didn’t work.

Sorry to hear your transfer didn't work.

@Fisalida I'm so sorry that your last IVF may not have worked out. It's so disheartening (and expensive too). Keep believing that your baby is on its path to you and will come when the time is right.

I often feel frustrated over the current border situation in Australia. It's definitely made travel super expensive and difficult. Things would have been so much easier pre-Covid that's for sure.

I've been all over the shop with regards to what I'm planning to do. First, I had my heart set on going Ziln (Czech Republic) on my own and shipping DH sperm but found out that's out of the question right now, briefly considered Cyprus, still considering frozen DE via Central IVF (if I can't go overseas), and yes, most recently have been leaning towards going to Greece. I recently met with Dr N at Embryoland and feel pretty confident with him so I'd like to go there.

I know its possible to get a travel exemption to go overseas, but for now at least I'm (impatiently) waiting and checking travel and vaccine passport updates on a daily basis hoping that we'll get to phase four by December so that international travel resumes and we can quarantine at home rather than pay for hotel quarantine. Quantas is definitely lobbying the government to resume travel mid December so my fingers are crossed for that. I'm hoping and praying it'll be possible to go for my treatment in Greece January, which would be great timing as that's school holidays so won't have to take DD out of school for a couple weeks. However, it's all so up in the air at the moment. It's hard to know what to do and how to plan for it.

Are you also trying to wait it out or are you considering applying for a travel exemption to go to Greece?

Hi everyone. Been stalking you all in the background since my failed trip to Greece last October.

Since then I have done three O/E cycles here in Melbourne (one with nothing surviving to day five, then transfer BFN, one BFP but early miscarriage ). Have now officially given up on my eggs (after seven egg collections and countless transfers!)

Now wanting to get back to Greece to our four perfect little D/E embryos on ice! I’m looking at going as soon as borders open for a double transfer. Probably a fly in/fly out situation to save money on accommodation costs. And because I will be traveling by myself as my husband does not have enough leave.

I know a lot of you are in the same boat - waiting for the border to open. Wishing you all the best of luck. Being I’m from Melbourne it seems likely by the end of the year 🤞hopefully same for some of you Sydneyites

Finally some good news on borders reopening!!

    https://www.news.com.au/travel/inter...352a7fc7f72b41

We're currently planning our next trip to Greece to try for baby #2 (surrogacy journey for us, not ED). Our little girl turns 1 in a few days. Can't believe how quickly time has gone by and we were in Greece this time last year.

I honestly haven't had a chance to keep up on this thread, i'm sorry, but just a question... anyone who has had the Pfizer vaccination, has your monthly period been delayed by it? Mine is late by 1-2 weeks and i've taken a pregnancy test and it was negative.
I've had hot flushes, but doctor google says that period doesn't just stop altogether. It goes irregular first if this is truly signs of menopause. I hope it isn't. I'm really really really not ready to give up on having a child. I'd try to convince myself that i am ready to give up but the threat of menopause has made me change my mind and i want to keep trying with donor embryos

    @hopefulsh

Mine came 10 days early, the day after my second pfizer.
At the time, I thought it was menopause... or stress. My mum was having surgery to remove ovarian cancer that has spread.
So, I just assumed it was that.

A friend told me it can happen after the vax, but I just don't know in my case... There was a lot happening at the time. I'm happy to blame anything apart from menopause at the moment.

But, it went straight back to normal afterwards...
So it could of been either. I just don't know.

there are unfortunately plenty of reports of disruption to periods after having the jab, either continuous bleeding or periods of missing cycles. Hopefully yours will reappear soon.

I'm so sorry the cancer your mum has, has spread. That's awful. Sending you big hugs!
Doctor google says it can delay your period, but it's just not normal for my system which is normally on time every and only ever out by a day if by some small chance that does happen.

I didn’t have my period for 2-4 months before I had my Pfizer . I thought menopause has kicked in was pretty disheartened. Since the vaccine I have had standard periods back . Weird eh?
