Mine was fine, but I can't say I felt particularly spoilt or anything

DH worked 12 hours yesterday, so he wasn't home until the evening. I took DS out to my parents house and we had a homecooked lunch there, which was nice.

DS gave me a flower growing kit and a photo frame fridge magnet from the Mother's Day stall at school. I also got two hand painted pictures from him of flowers, which DH got him to do secretly when I went grocery shopping on Saturday. DS isn't big on painting, so it was nice to know he made them happily for me.

DH gave me some money to spend, so I bought some stuff from Mecca which should arrive in the next day or so.

The part for me that felt like it wasn't that special was having to come home after being out all day to do housework and cook dinner!

Nevertheless, I have a lot to be grateful for, so it's all good really

I’m away on holidays and put the kids into kids club and had a nap.

There was presents too which was lovely. They couldn’t go to the Mother’s Day stall at school, but my sister took my kids shopping and I took my nephew in return.

To the parents who volunteer their time running Mother’s Day stalls etc at school, you are amazing. I always love the presents they pick

I actually had a lovely day. I told DH a few days ago that I had zero expectations as he was supposed to be away for work but the trip got cancelled.

I had a lie in with DS to the point I had to get DH to watch him in bed so I could get up and shower before swimming lessons. Naturally he woke shortly after I got up and DH then got the first of the day. While I showered, DH got a second then just as we were leaving, DH copped a 3rd so he then stayed home with DS while DD and I went to swimming. When we got home, DH cooked me bacon and eggs for breakfast. We had a quiet day watching some tv while the kids whinged around me then we went out to the football. Both kids were amazing at the game, the lions won too so that’s a bonus. I got the sweetest gifts too. A personalised story book and a hand painted bracelet from DDs kindy class. Honestly though, not having to deal with anyone else’s poo was the true highlight of my day.

The only negative about the day was that while I was eating breakfast, DH was pretty heavy handed with the spray and wipe while cleaning the kitchen so that’s all I could taste. But it’s only a small blip on the day.

Mine was ok. It’s just DD and I at home so I didn’t have anyone cook me breakfast or make me coffee. DD had made me some presents and hidden them but she couldn’t remember where. So we spent 2 hrs searching for them before giving up and going to my parents place. Lunch was good, DD was being a grumps and wouldn’t eat any. Then we went home and I found the presens in the freezer (?!?). It was very cute hand made stuff. DH had arranged flowers (they were really nice) and they had been delivered while we were out. I was tired and couldn’t be bothered making dinner. I just wanted someone else to make dinner and clean up. So we ate a packet of corn chips and Dd also had yoghurt. Writing this post makes me think the day wasn’t that great but I don’t feel that way. The fact that I spent it with DD and my mum, and was made to feel appreciated (remotely) by DH is all that I really cared about and I got to do that. ❤️
