Hi Everyone!
I'm new here. So excited that I found this forum!
I did my first round of IVF early last year. Was expecting about 6, but only managed to get 2 eggs on the day, luckily both fertilised and made it to D5, did a fresh cycle as well as a frozen one. But neither of them implanted.
I'm now starting my 2nd round of IVF. Just did 11 days of Decapeptyl, and just started on Puregon 250 tonight. Fingers crossed I can get more eggs this round.
My FS said that half of unexplained infertility is caused by endometriosis. I don't have any symptoms, no pain and have regular period. My Q is, is there a way to really know whether I have this or not? or do I have to do laparoscopy to make sure? FS did suggest to do the PGS and after two good Embryo transfer if its not successful then I should go for laparoscopy. But I'm not sure how many good Embryo's I'm gonna get as I'm 38.5 already and I feel like it could be a waste of good Embryo's. Any suggestions/thought?

I personally opted to do a laparoscopy prior to starting ivf as it’s the only definitive way to find endometriosis. It’s not usually able to be picked up on ultrasound and I didn’t want to spend $$$ on ivf only to find out it was a waste because of endo. I didn’t have endo and it took us 3 full cycles (and one unsuccessful frozen cycle) to get our now 3yo DD. Good luck! It’s a mind game for sure.

Keep in mind that even younger women will have a relatively high proportion of aneuploid embryos. This only increases as we age. I would consider the PGS testing to ensure you are transferring good embies.

Only a lap will tell you for sure, but since you don't really have any reason to think you have endo I'd wait and see how many eggs and embryos you get next time. Laps aren't without discomfort or cost.
Based on what you've said I don't think it's really unexplained - you're 38.5, and got a low number of eggs. Chances were that those two embryos, even though they made it to day 5, weren't going to implant. I'd really only start worrying about endo if you were getting good numbers of eggs resulting in a good proportion of high quality blastocysts. Based on what you've described so far, egg quality would be higher on the list of things to question than endo.

I didn’t have any symptoms of endo, regular periods with no pain. I had unexplained infertility and specialist decided a laparoscopy was required to investigate blocked tubes or endo.
Turns out I had stage 2 endo. Got pregnant 4 months after surgery. When I was trying for my second I wasn’t having much luck so I had another laparoscopy and it had progressed to stage 3 endo. After that surgery I got pregnant after three months.
Just wanted to share that you can still have endo without symptoms.
My egg reserves were really low too and the specialist said for my second that we would need to go to IVF if I didn’t get pregnant within the 3 months. He basically said it was a miracle I got pregnant.
Fingers crossed fingers you xxx

Thanks for the Info. I heard the laparoscopy is very painful and so Im having doubts about having it. Just wondering how long did recovery take for you? and how soon can we resume the implantation after the surgery?

Thanks Kalina - Thats why Im having doubts with Laps.
In the last IVF cycle, the Ultra sound showed 11 follicles, the meds gave me 6 good size ones, but I ended up with only 2 Eggs. At the the time my AMH was 13.2. Fast forward a year my AMH is now 9.4, declined dramatically. Anyway lets see what happens this cycle.
