My DS turns 10 in early Feb. If I book him a party, I usually hold it in mid Feb to give the school parents a bit of notice (his first day back at school is tomorrow).
I'd like to book it on the 14th, which is Valentines Day (and a Sunday).
Now, Valentines Day means nothing to me (!), but do you think it could effect the numbers of kids able to attend?
I'm looking at 2pm and the party would go for 2 hours, so if parents had a date planned they'd probably still be able to do that.
Thoughts?
I could do the Saturday, but a lot of kids seem to have sporting commitments on Saturdays and I think there's a higher chance some won't be able to come.

I personally would still attend a birthday party on Valentine’s Day, even if we did something it’s likely to just be dinner.
PS I can not believe our boys turn 10 this year

We don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day so my kids would attend a party on that day. I think most would, particularly being a daytime party.

Totally would book on Valentine’s. Also, Sunday parties (from experience) have always had more attendees because of sports/kids parents working on Saturdays.
I think traditionally .*most people* do the Valentine thing in the evening anyway.

I would rather a Valentine’s Day party on a Sunday than a Saturday party that clashes with sport.

Thanks for the replies ladies
I was all prepared to book a party, but DH thinks we should do something a little more low-key for him this year (he did have a big party last year). We'll have to make our minds up about it over the weekend.
