Also if anyone has any suggestions on any suburbs going towards Brisbane that worth looking at let me know.
We are going up to QLD hopefully in June depending on COVID to look at real estate.

Getting a block that big for about $500K AND good public transport might be difficult. How good do you want the public transport to be?

Scarborough is a lovely area as is Redcliffe.I know there are buses in both suburbs that go to the city .Wynnum is nice too. It’s on a train line and there are buses to the city as well .

I'd be very wary about moving to Redcliffe. Nice enough for a day visit but I'd have serious reservations about living there. Aaand I'll leave it at that.

Default Thinking of moving to QLD

SSecret Squirrel I agree with everything you have said.

I would avoid Kallangur, Dakabin, Kippa Ring, Rothwell and Deception Bay.

Narangba has much bigger blocks than North Lakes but public transport will not be all that great there.

Mango Hill and Murrumba Downs are also suburbs close to North Lakes that have good public transport.

Schools are very strict on their catchments
    here.

My pick would be Mango Hill for a state school. There are a few more options for private schools.

The North Lakes State College and Bounty Boulevard SS don’t have very good reputations....

I would also consider options depending on where your hubby would be working too...

Happy to PM if you want more information.
