    Default Hcg levels

    Hi everyone,

So this is my third pregnancy and I’m roughly 5ish weeks. I’ve had 3 blood test to see my hcg levels and it’s going up but only slowly. Currently at 1,100 ish for 5 weeks. Dr said I need another test in 2 days. Should I be worrying? I know it can range from 200- to thousands around 5 weeks too. Also I don’t feel many pregnancy symptoms, my lower back has been a bit sore and boobs a tiny bit of a sensation sometimes. Anyone else had no symptoms and low levels and it be ok? 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

It can vary so much. A follow up of bloods can give you an idea of how things are progressing.

With all of my pregnancies, my hcg has been low - and told me to basically expect the worst, but here I am with 3 healthy babies.

    Ds1: 11dpo - hcg 15
    Ds2: 17dpo - hcg 63
    Ds3: 17dpo - hcg 130 something

So if I had follow ups with my 2nd for example, assuming doubling every 2 days as expected...
    19dpo (4w5d) -126
    21dpo (5w) - 252
    23dpo (5w2d) - 504
    25dpo (5w4d) - 1008
    27dpo (5w6d) - 2016

Which seems similar to yours. I would've loved for a follow up of bloods but my dr wouldn't allow it without bleeding, because my understanding is the number isn't an exact reflection, but the rate it increases can give a better understanding.

Those sound like great numbers! It’s the rise that’s important not the specific number. Congratulations!!

Agree with others; I’ve had both sides of this.

    Positive experience:
4 weeks - HCG was only 40 and they were worried it was low but with repeat blood tests it showed it was doubling every 2 days and I ended up with a healthy boy who’s now nearly 3!

    Sad experience:
Fell pregnant 3 weeks after getting mirena removed to try for our second baby.

    First blood test
    21/05 - HCG 40
    23/05 - HCG 107
    4/06 - HCG 623
    5/06 - HCG 748

It wasn’t doubling at all and was really slow to rise and sadly ended up being a blighted ovum that resulted in a natural miscarriage on 15/06.

From the information you’ve given it seems very positive, you could always ask another blood test in a few days to confirm again if you are still worried.

    Congratulations lovely
