Meanwhile my DD age 7 wrote to Santa asking the elves to come early. He wrote back and said they had girlfriends now and didn’t want to leave too early. (Let’s just say girlfriends were going to visit too and purchases had been made). My DD said “oh our elves are girls too... that’s ok for girls to love girls”.

How did I not know the elves were girls?! Seems unlikely to have two gay elves with girls friends in one household. One DD wavered that hers *could* be a boy maybe... unsure how to proceed!

Elfy turned up last night with lego advent calendar and a book.
I forgot about the whole “don’t touch the elf” thing and sat the elf in DS’s doorway to his room since he decided he was sleeping in my bed last night.
Now whenever one of us goes in there, we have to jump over the elf 🤦‍♀️

My kids were awake an hour earlier than usual at 6.30am to find the elf! I couldn’t even open my eyes to talk to them so made them wait until I woke up. Let’s hope it doesn’t continue all month! She is on the tree and bought a box with pjs, a book to share, choc advent calendars and their Santa drink bottles and cups from last year.
