We love Arron Blabey - busting and piranhas don’t eat bananas.

Oh we love books... We have way too many!

Julia Donaldson books! We have all her books that Axel has illustrated on but there a few in particular that I have read so much, I can read them with my eyes closed 😂
I’m partial to Zog - about a girl choosing to become a doctor instead of being a princess.

Others they liked when really young (some are still on high rotation):
    - goodnight moon (Margaret Wise Brown)
    - do not open this book (Andy Lee, mostly just this first one, rather than the whole series)
    - Crocodaddy (Kim Norman)
    - The very cranky bear series (Nick Bland)

Photo books of themselves! Kids love them as they get to look back over the things they have done (over the year or on the holiday, whatever the book was about).
When they were babies, I just printed photos of them and stuck them in an small old school photo album as they would play, read it to themselves and destroy it 😂. It included photos of them with each of the extended family members, just to build their village of family... if that makes sense!

We are another fan of Julia Donaldson, we have almost all of them. DD loves Room on the broom & The Gruffalo especially. She also loves anything Peppa pig. Disney princess’ is also a favourite at the moment as we are going through a “princess” faze lol.

Zog by Julia Donaldson is also a favourite here.

Others with gender flipped themes that happen to be a favourites as well are Eric Carle's Mister Seahorse and Wendy Binks' Where's Stripey.

    Again by Emily Gravett.

We're going on a Bear Hunt by Michael Rosen.

    Anything by Dr Seuss.

Pig the Pug and anything Aaron Blabey are huge hits around here. And they’re nice to read aloud.
