Unhappy Struggling to find when I ovulate

Hi, does anyone have experience with using OPKs to track ovulation?

I’ve got a regular 28 day cycle and have been tracking my periods for around 1 year but only recently (the last 2 cycles) started ttc tracking BBT and using Ovuplan OPK test strips because DH & I decided to try for baby #3.

I find tracking my CM not helpful as it changes quickly from egg white start of my fertile week to dry. Tracking BBT confuses me and using an App on my phone as a guide but then the OPK tests are coming back negative during my fertile week.

Argh feeling so frustrated! Conceiving our first 2 babies wasn’t this hard.
Please help, any advice would be much appreciated

I found when using OPKs that it is better to test more than once a day. For my DD I bought the ebay cheap opk tests in bulk and tested at 11am then again at 3pm then again at 7pm. It is possible you only have a short LH surge. I never got positives until 7pm at night and they were gone by the morning.

Thanks @Mummamania I was only testing in the morning, so I think I need to test in the evenings too like you said. I’ll buy some in bulk, that’s a good idea.
Thanks so much for your reply!

I just read up on OPKs and it says it is better not to test in the morning because LH gets synthesised during the day so the afternoon is the best time to test.

Yep i completely second testing later in the day, and more than just once.

my first couple of cycles i was getting nowhere with opks, until i started testing 2 or 3 times a day, now i know my best time is always around 2pm, so i am just using 1 a day, but thats just me, i also have a short LH surge, so its normally back to a negative result by the next day aswell.

Good luck and baby dust to you!!

Hi @Mamasupial, that would be so great thank you! I use the Ovia app which works/predicts my peak day for me but I still don’t know how to read the BBT to know when I ovulated.
Could I email you the screenshot of my chart? Or how do I send it to you on here?
    I’m new at this 😊

You can just attach it in here. I haven't used that app sorry. I use fertility friend. Does it plot the temperatures in a chart?

Not sure if that worked, tried to paste it above, the link might work? The Ovia app would be similar, it does plot temperatures on a chart and gives green days (darkest green fertile day) I have also tracked cm which is shown at the bottom of chart.
