    Default Allergy help please!!!!

    For those who have a child that is anaphylactic and have had to use an epipen .... how soon after exposure did their reaction start? Thanks

    Varying from minutes to around 1hr later.

    Thanks for your replies. My son is 13 and accidentally had a chocolate with peanuts in it. He has none of his usual symptoms as yet. I rang the help line and they said that sometimes it can be up to 24 hours for an anaphylaxis to occur. The last reaction was years ago and was within 5 minutes. But I’m feeling pretty nervous to be honest. Not sure I’ll sleep tonight 😳

    How scary for you. I hope that this brings some positive light with no reaction.
    The first 2hrs are most common (info from our Paed Immunologist) but yes, unfortunately it can be far longer than that, although rare.
