Default Period advice for a small girl

My 10yo is exhibiting signs she may be starting her period soon, she’s growing bre@sts, having stomach pain and recently has begun getting discharge.

I am putting together a period pack for her, my issue is, she is TINY, she still wears size 3-4 undies. I have no idea what kind of pads to put in there for her? Any advice would be great.

I know Libra do a pad specifically for young girls, I *think* they’re called Libra girl. They used to be Libra hearts back in the day.

Libra girl pads are smaller than regular pads.

Having said that, my tiny 15 year old DD gets super heavy periods and needs to wear super pads which are very bulky on her. She has put on a bit of weight recently, but she is only 4 foot 11 1/2 (the 1/2 is very important!).

Definitely try the Libra girl pads though. I'm pretty sure there are also Libra girl tampons.

FWIW I found that my DD's had discharge for at least a year if not two years before getting their periods. Girls also tend to have a major growth spurt before getting their periods, so she may grow a bit before actually getting her period.

I have some panty liners in my DD’s period pack as well as the girl sized pads (she is 11 - no period yet). Once it arrives I’ll be getting modibodis for her (period underwear). I use them, they are brilliant. I would have killed for them when I got my period (pads were like surfboards in those days).

Could you try some period undies? Like the ones from modi bodi? I think they make a girls range. She could keep them in her bag just in case

I’d have to have a look at how small they run, she still wears toddler undies.

Check out modibodi. They have girls period undies. They are really comfy.

Modibodi are a great idea. I love them!

Bonds have released some, not sure how good they are. Had anyone tried them?

Libra girl pads are slimmer for smaller bodies.

Not sure modi body undies would come in a small enough size plus they are not cheap so you’d wanna be sure theyd fit before buying.

She may get a big growth spurt before she gets her first period so id stick to just buying some libra girl pads for now and waif and see

I bought some modi body style (may have been a different brand?) undies for one of my girls - she hated them. Was huge waste of money. If you want to go down that path, I would suggest just buying one to trial before committing to say a whole week's worth like I did.
