I vacuumed the whole house on Sunday. Did it again this morning as the floor was awful then my son made Anzac biscuits as part of his home learning 🤣 I give up!

My house needs vacuuming constantly to be ‘clean’, due to two massive indoor labradors that shed hair everywhere. Everything needs washing all the time, but usually I have no time to do it. I generally get up for work at 4am, do an hour or more of work prep, set off by 6am, get back at 6.30pm, cook dinner, put DD to bed, work for 3-4 hours, then repeat. On top of this, I have a full time study load, so Saturdays are generally studying from 8am to 5.30/6pm. Sundays I usually clean in the morning, spend a couple of hours with the family, then do planning for work for 6-8 hours.

Although my workload is now slightly heavier, just being home makes all the difference. I can wipe the benches while on a phone call, vacuum at lunch time, use work hours for planning without needless interruption ... and so on.

Also, your “you are dead to me” faces must not be as scary as mine. Everyone in my house tidies up after themselves better if I’m around to see them making mess

Oh my kids are older and all clean up after themselves. They have to do chores and tidy up their stuff before bed. I’m more taking about dirt on the floors, bench tops have more crumbs, etc because we are home all the time and eating at home more.

Yes, why can’t anyone use the same cup all day?

More exercise! I don’t usually do anything at all but with DS and I stuck at home we have to get out and do something physical daily.

Yep, I’ve started exercising. Usually with a 9kg weight for the second half. DD1 never seems to make it home under her own steam.

This is why I've been exercising less...ds is too big for me to carry. I have started attending an online Pilates class though which I've really enjoyed.

I'm going to be honest here and say that there is no silver lining for me being isolated at home. I'm actually regressing. I have been in my own 'lockdown' for almost a year now, and just when I have begun to improve here and there, I'm forced back inside. Gone is the ability to re-learn how to drive because that's now illegal, and gone is the ability to progress and feel more normal and human.
I haven't been to the park with my children in 12 months, and I've barely seen family and friends in that time too, so at this stage it's upsetting to know that I'm having to continue like this for an indefinite period of time.

Can't wait for all of this to be over.
