    Hi everybody!

Hope you're all feeling well, physically and emotionally in these unsettling times.

We are hoping to create some articles to answer questions parents and parents-to-be might have about COVID-19.

On Monday we will have the chance to talk to an expert from one of Australia's fertility clinics and we want to give you the opportunity to have some of your questions answered.

Do you have questions about fertility and COVID-19?

Do you have questions about IVF and COVID-19?

    Please ask them here...

Does it seem likely that IVF procedures will be deferred / clinics closed / day hospitals repurposed? Or can we expect to continue treatment for as long as we need it during the pandemic (health allowing)?

I am getting ready to start my first FET cycle once my period starts (anytime in the next few days). It will be a fully medicated cycle using Ethinyloestadiol and Progesterone, are there are extra precautions I should be taking while undergoing this treatment?
Or anything else I should know other than to be ready for things to get cancelled with no notice?

I am in a stim cycle (cd9) likely to have EPU Thursday, will my embryos still be monitored and cared for to day 6 as they normally would? What will happen to them if the Clinic needs to close?

The advice on pregnancy and COVID-19 seems to be varied. The UK advice is different from the WHO advice and different again from the US advice. What seems to be best evidence so far regarding risks for pregnant women and their unborn babies? Thank you!

I was about to start a frozen transfer cycle with Monash and was told last Thursday that it wasn't going to happen - everything is postponed unless you're already partway through a cycle. I'm so disappointed because I just had my second LIT treatment which only lasts 6 months and am afraid this situation will go for longer. So upset and am really feeling that ticking clock

Hi and thanks to everyone who submitted questions to us. We were really hoping to get some answers for you but like everything at the moment things are moving very quickly. In the time between us sending answers off to our fertility clinic and them replying, the government made an announcement that changed it all again.

This is the reply that we ended up receiving ...

"As announced by the Prime Minister yesterday, all non-essential surgeries must be completed by midnight on 1 April. The Fertility Society has further received advice that patients who have already commenced an IVF cycle, including fresh or frozen embryo transfer, can complete their treatment following consultation with their fertility specialist."

We are planning on keeping up to date on this and other related matters. So we'll follow this closely to see what happens.

Thanks again and stay safe everyone!
