Congrats!!!
Excellent news.
If you remember can you let us know how much flights cost pls.
I talked to Dr N at embryoland and he said he's had a few people arrive from Aust after getting an excemption . But not from melb. Hes not expecting approvals from melb until October.
I tried to work out how expensive flights for Oct would be and I got mixed results. I'm not sure I believe the price, I was expecting a lot more. But would love it to be less... 😊

Amandamoo,
FYI In case you haven't seen it, Emirates is offering global COVID19 costs cover with there flights. I don’t know what it entails, or if possibly other airlines might be offering it as well.

A member of our Greece IVF Facebook page just reported that she received her exemption to travel for egg donation, which is amazing news! Seems the Dept of Home Affairs is being far more reasonable with these requests now. They were very strict with granting exemptions a couple of months back.

Thank you for thinking of me. Unfortunately Emirates aren’t flighting to Ercan. I can only find flights with Qatar.
I’m so excited 😆.
I called Flight Centre and they said Qatar have been excellent right the way through the pandemic. They’ve put on extra flights everywhere and have even started flighting from Brisbane.
I’m still a little scared to book but with insurance it’s $4200 which isn’t too bad, considering. That’s for two adults, return.

Egg Donation Greece #20
@1greenfrog I read your post, I just wanted to say that my heart goes out to you - do not give up. Those of us who’ve been on the journey and through it will say that it’s all about perseverance and for those of us who can, leave no stone unturned. We risk many things. Some may call this obsessive but who cares? I get the Old school mentality of parents, it’s their generation and I just think it’s in their DNA. But you’re doing the right thing because your heart is screaming it. Follow the path. You are brave, you have courage, you have a plan. You’re already visualising it. Keep pushing, one foot in front of the other. You’re 45, you’re ok. Older ladies have done it. You’ll get there. Have you got a specialist in Greece? Get one, tell them about your period. Have you got one here? Get one. Have a health team, get your laparoscopy, check the oven’s nice and clear. Check whether you’ve got immune issues too.
You are actually so close because your head and heart is in it. Hang in there!Last edited by Phia; 28-07-2020 at 06:13.

Hi @gypsychild yes, i started out trying with donor eggs and having no luck so switched to donor embryos. I was a bit sad about that for a little while but for me personally it wasnt that bigger leap if that makes sense. Luckily my partner didnt care. For me, it was more that any child i did have wouldnt be able to know anything about their history. However by that stage i just so desperately wanted a baby i didnt care enough to let it stop me. And honestly, everytime i look at my donor emby little girl, i think "thank god all those other embryos didnt work because then i wouldnt have you." The baby you get, is the one you were meant to have. I have no regrets whatsoever and the way i think about it is that what i actually so desperately wanted was to be a mum, not so much have a particular type of child, if that makes sense? I wanted snuggles and whispy haired babies with rosy cheeks fresh out of the bath and santa at christmas and bedtime stories and kids birthday parties and playdates at the park and chasing bubbles round the backyard and someone calling me mummy and all the rest of all the beautiful moments. I wanted the love and DNA plays no part in love, I have learnt through this journey. I also ended up falling preggers naturally with our little boy, after having our daughter and i dont feel any differently about either child. My daughter fascinates me because she was a gift and because I have no expectations or preconcieved ideas about what she should be like or will be like. And, i say this totally tounge in cheek... our son, from our dna, is a full on cheeky handful of a child and sometimes i jokingly think to myself, "bloody hell, i should have just gone back to greece and used those other people's dna, and just ordered another one of the same as I got before"
But in all seriousness, i do get that its another shock to the system and initially I felt like "geez ive already given up so much and now i have to give up even more?" But I know now, that once you get those 2 pink lines and an actual real live baby of your own to love, you wont have any regrets and it doesnt feel like you've "given up" anything, it feels like you've received the best that life has to offer xx
