    Big hugs!!!

I've been just heading into the wormhole that is going to a clinic that imports donor eggs into Australia. Suposedly there bringing donor eggs into some parts of Australia.
I just can't work out the costs from the info they have sent through so far...
Anyway... we will see. Not sure how much longer I can wait to travel.
@1greenfrog I believe dr Lynn burmister ‘S new clinic she established brings in eggs as well. Last time I checked was years ago and it worked out going to Greece was similar costs and I was able to do a fresh transfer. So ended up choosing greece

Thanks tinker27, I actually just rang them and they now do, although it seems the process might have a few additional steps from the clinic in Canberra and slightly more expensive. But at least I can do it without flying overseas.

Bloody hell, I can't stop saying who knew Australians would basically be stopped from travelling wherever they wanted in the world. I mean Aussies love to travel...ahhh... I still can't believe it.

Might have to start a Donor Egg in Australia thread... stop sidetraking this thread. sorry about that.

Sorry 1greenfrog, do you mind sharing Dr's B contact or clinic name so I can have a chat with them as well? Thank you and sorry ladies for also sidetracking your thread 😞

Just incase anyone is interested- I’ve just seen that as of this week you no longer have to isolate for 7 days in Greece upon arrival! Unfortunately doesn’t change to 2 week quarantine here but at least it’s one less week.

@1greenfrog if you start a new thread please let us know. Dr B is not great with her bedside manners ... just a heads up. I have been her patient for a long long time.
If option to go to Greece keeps getting further and further away I might have to look in to this as well.

Dr Joe Sgroi and Melbourne IVF also now have access to bring in eggs from World egg bank.
He did a podcast with “the Donor project” a few days ago. Def worth a listen

This pandemic is really ****ing me off 🤬

I am so grateful to be safe and well and I know what an enormous privilege that is right now but I'm going crazy.

Trying to get DHs sperm shipped to Europe has become a massive nightmare, it has to be hand carried into the country but I can't get it hand carried from Aus to Europe as no one is doing that right now, so now I have to find an intermediary Clinic that will accept the shipment from Aus so the courier can pick it up and hand carry it over the border to our donor Clinic.

I never expected this to be easy but does it absolutely have to be this hard?

Hi BabyO, have you tried Sam from Growing Families or Kosta from Kynisi? Both offered us hand carried shipment services to Europe and confirmed they are doing it with some frequency. Growing Families seem to have lots of options with different courier companies. We decided not to use them only because our budget has limitations as it seems it is cheaper for us to travel together than to ship DH sample and our Clinic was not keen to collect, preserve and release a sample going to our preferred destination. This also can be managed with Growing Families as they have connections with clinics that do help but again engaging Growing Families to help is a cost on top of everything else plus changing clinics, referrals and so on. It is a bit of a hassle anyway...keep us posted!

I looked at growing families too but like you that cost on top of everything else really stretched the budget, I'll keep trying until I hit a dead end and then I might just have to pay GF to help but I'm not there yet.

Unfortunately DH can't WFH so can't risk getting trapped OS indefinitely so shipping is our only viable option, our preferred destination has this stupid hand carry into the country rule and only 2 companies have the necessary license to do it, neither of them will hand carry from Aus right now but both are happy to pick up from an IVF Clinic in the EU, I just need to find a Clinic in the EU to accept the shipment and hand it on

@BabyO try penny from serum, she is very helpful even if your doing a cycle in another clinic/country, there would definitely be a fee involved but hopefully it wouldn’t be too much.
