Default How do you organise family photos?

Tell me what do you do with your family photos. I take too many photos of kids and enjoy looking through photo albums. In the last 9 years I managed to do over 30 of them and ifI continue at this rate we ll run out of space. At the moment I have 2 years of photos to sort out and it’s stressing me out. I was thinking maybe I should start doing photo books instead of printing photos and putting them into album, too time consuming ? Or is there better ideas?

Yes I've switched to photo books. I have the best printed into photo book once or twice a year and they look fantastic, are so easy to store, and keep really well.

I Love Photo books, only done one so far but definitely doing more. Also I have Instagram, all my best pictures are there and I always go back and look at them, not sure how much it holds but people have thousands on there.

What photo book companies do people recommend?

I have used Snapfish for calendars snd print outs of photos, but aren’t ever overly happy with the photo resolution once printed.

I currently have 9000 photos to sort through eeep!

I do my photo books through Harvey Norman. Wait for their sales to buy vouchers for books up to 100 pages, much cheaper than regular price.

omg photos are my arch nemesis. Every year I SWEAR I will organise them then every year I have yet another memory stick chokkas with photos. I have photos in albums up until 2013, that I constantly stress there will be a house fire and I will lose, but there are over 11,000 photos in those albums, and the thought of scanning them is just too hard. Then from 2013 until now I have a memory stick a year. Most of those memory sticks are organised into months taken. Just the thought of photos causes me so much anxiety!!!

    Photobooks here too.

I have a Dropbox subscription which I upload all photos too every few months (you can do auto upload but it upload every photo you take which I personally don’t want, I like to delete duplicates etc). I also copy and paste the folder onto an external HD. I would hate to lose the photos as I love looking back over them with the kids.

I have done a photobook for each child, each year.

I use Momento (I wait for sales), super happy with quality.

Once you have ordered the book you created once, it stays on your account so you can reorder additional copies (eg for kids when they are older, grandparents).

Yes, I feel you. There is an app for scanning that I used for some of my childhood photos. Photo scan, from google photos.
