    Default Tracking app

Hi. I have an old iPhone for my son. He’s often out riding his bike with a lot with friends so just want to be able to track him. What apps are there? I don’t want to use find my iPhone as I don’t want to have to share the iCloud with his phone so I’m after a tracking app. Thanks.

We use google maps, my husband and I have given permission to each other through the app to be able to see each other’s location. Very helpful when one of us is cooking dinner while the other is on the way home from work!

We use Life 360, it’s free, though you can pay for extra features, but we find the free version perfectly fine for what we need.

Ok. So I found life360 and see people have recommended it here. I downloaded it yesterday morning. My son accidentally deleted it yesterday and since then, it’s telling me that there’s no network or his phone is off which it isn’t. It’s right next to mine. I sent him an invite again but it says he’s already in the circle. He can trigger a help alert and I get it but my phone/app is not registering his phone

It might be his permission settings? Does he have mobile data on for the ap?

Ok well it’s working now but I’m just going to bite the bullet and use find my iPhone. I’m not comfortable having location services turned on all the time. I don’t ever have it turned on on my phone all the time either and my son’s sim is a cheap prepaid sim and location services will eat up too much credit as he has very little data. I didn’t want to spend a lot of money going post paid but maybe that’s what I’ll have to do.
