Default Times your kids have made you look bad

    Just for fun

When have your kids unknowing made you look bad?

My DD broke her arm a year ago, she was 7. I left nuerofen tablets at the school office for her to take when it was sore. They were surprised it was tablets, not liquid, but she’s a giant so the right weight for tablets and can take them easily.

They offered her a drink to swallow them but she said no I’m right and just swallowed it straight . No drink, like House on TV. When she told me I cringed and hate to imagine what they thought!

We were out on a walk last night. As we walked through the park we went by a man practising some form of yoga or similar. Basically he was standing very still in a semi-squat pose with his head bowed.

DD (2) pointed and yelled: “Quick Mum! That man needs someone to wipe his bum!”

    Kill me.

My MIL bathes herself in the most potent Elizabeth Arden perfume (can’t remember the name) and it permeates on everything, even the car seatbelt.
I suffer with migraines and perfume is often a trigger, especially strong ones like MIL’s.

So, after every visit/stay, I would bemoan to DH about how Mil’s perfume is so strong, and on everything she touches, room she enters etc, etc.

Mil comes up to stay and DH and DD1 (who was 3 yrs) pick her up from the Airport whilst I stayed home with the other kids. Mil asks how I am to DH and DD says, “Mummy says you really stink Nanna”.

When she was three DD1 came into our bed in the middle of the night one Sunday night. A couple of hours later, she decided to change sleeping positions and flung herself onto me. I was sort of on my side, my arm draped across my hip, and she landed awkwardly on my elbow. Ouch.

The next morning at daycare one of the educators bounded up, 'Good morning DD1! How was your weekend?' To which my little munchkin replied 'It was good, but mama hit me in the head.'

So last year my DS was obsessed with pinball and I would take him to a place that had two machines he liked playing. One day we went there and we weren't able to go in because it was closed for a 'plumbing issue'. The thick and offensive stench of sewage was in the air and I couldn't help but remark to DS how disgusting the smell was as we retreated from the area. He was asking what the smell was and I uttered under my breath 'human sh!t'.

About a week later I took him back to play pin ball and as we were walking through the car park, DS (who is normally good at not repeating swear words) remarked to me loudly enough for the guy walking in front of us to hear "hey mum, it doesn't smell like human sh!t here anymore". OMG.

I don't have my own experience yet coz bub is just 3 mos old but my mum had a bad experience with me when I was 6/7 y/o (I'll never forget it because she mentions it in parties). We were lined up for check out in a grocery, very long cue and at that time I was learning and trying to read whatever I see. I grab hold of a colourful box near the counter and blurted out in a very loud voice "CON-DOM... Mum, what are CONDOMS?" she refused to explain anything to me embarrassed that strangers were looking so i kept asking til we reached the carpark "Mum what are condoms? Tell me!!! Can we get one?" 🤣🤣🤣

    Oh I have another one!

A few weeks ago DD and I went to the police station to have documents certified.

DD: Why are we waiting, Mummy?

Me: We are waiting to see the police officer to get them to sign Mummy’s paper.

DD: Okay. Will it be police man or lady?

Me: Well we don’t know yet, we won’t know until they come out and say hello to us.

A very burly policeman walks out.

    Policeman: Good morning.

DD: *cheerfully* Mummy doesn’t know if you are police man or lady.

    Thanks kid.
