    Default Transferring 2 x embryos

    Hi guys,

I’ve just started a new FET cycle this month (currently taking clomid for 5 days) which finishes Sunday.
I will be transferring 2 x embryos this time (1 day 5 blastocyst, which has been pg screened and 1 x day 6 blastocyst -unscreened)
Would love to hear thoughts on doing this?
    And also similar stories?
Praying this works as we only have 1 frozen emby left! (After an initial amount of 33)

    Hi,
I just transferred 2 yesterday. Other 3 were singles and I had enough of 1 at a time so insisted on 2.
It was the same procedure as if transferring 1 only they drew 2 into the tube then inserted 2 back.
    Best of luck x

My last cycle I transferred 2 embryos, “pretty average quality” early blasts that couldn’t be graded. I now have 5 month old twins.

We did years of Ivf and I was also done and just wanted to see results.

I will just say, make sure you are absolutely ok with having twins. The pregnancy is much hard and higher risk and then having 2 babies is full on. We’ve had to upgrade house and car, and it really is very hard work. I wouldn’t change them but I wish I had really thought about the possibility of having 2.

We also have a 2yo through Ivf so that adds to the workload.

    Hello lovely.
Do you mean 33 embryos or 33 eggs? Have you transferred all of the other 31?

The reason I ask is that it’s such a huge number to transfer and not work, you poor thing! I’m guessing you’ve done all the NK cells immune testing and had a hysteroscopy?

    Best of luck xx

    Oops ! I meant eggs.
we had 33 to start with (this is over 13 years ago) so I can’t remember much haha
But I think once we fertilised them only 20 were viable ? Then we had genetic testing done and we have used about 7-8 (we have 1 son, 5 years old)
So after all that we have 2 that remain.
I just had a transfer Monday gone.
We changed our minds and just transferred the one embryo as we were told transferring 2 x embryos only increases your chance of pregnancy by 3% But it increases your chance of having twins by 60%!!! Which we were a bit nervous about! 🥴 haha

Anywho.. pregnancy test next Friday 31st!! 🤞

    Hey ladies!

    Hope you’re all doing well

My partner and I have had 3 fresh cycles of icsi done so far and we only have one blast available for transfer at the end, and the rest not being good enough for freezing

I would like to ask if any of you have ever transferred one of these embryos that aren’t good enough for freezing and have had success

And were your specialists easy to convince when it came to asking about transferring 2 embryos

My partner and I are quite young so the nurse believes that no FS would be willing to do it but I feel like we’re wasting embryos that might’ve done alright in the womb bc of this

    Thank you xx

Hey! I know we're messaging. But after our 2nd failed cycle they said from now on, as long as there are 2 viable embryos they'd do a double transfer. I asked about doing double afyer our 1st failed cycle haha then after our 2nd I was like I know what the risks are blah blah. But lets be honest people can conceive twins naturally anyway! So yeah they were happy too! Wasn't too hard to convince tbh. But I think it also depends on the clinic? Xx

Thanks so much!!! Yep.. I feel exactly what you have just explained! I totally know I wouldn’t be able to handle twins 🤦🏼‍♀️🤣 I’m such a stress head about everything being in order and house clean etc .. I would have a mini stroke! Lol
Your answer has really helped me! Xx
