    Default Kindy starters 2020

Anyone else have kindy starters next year? DS will be one of the older kids (he’s a feb birthday and will be turning 6) we are so glad we kept him back another year! No way would he have coped this year.

Are your little ones excited? How are you feeling?

Figured I’d start a thread to chat with other kindy parents! DS is our only child so this is the first and last time we will experience it and I’m almost ready to cry now lol

    ‍♀️
Dd5 starts kindy. She isn’t really bothered, she goes to daycare already and it was always a battle to get her to leave when dropping dd4 off this year so I think she will be fine. Still undecided if we will have her repeat kindy the year after- will see how she’s going closer to the middle/end of the year and make a decision then. Personally I would rather her start that year later but I guess if she is ready socially, emotionally and academically there’s not much point.

Edit to add- she is 3 turning 4 on May 31

Do you mean kindy as in part time? 2-3 days a week?
Or as in first year of official schooling? Then into grade 1 in 2021?
All the states have different names so just trying to work it out

What an exciting time for you all!

My second is off to kinder next year, he will also be an older one (April, he is 4 turning 5). But we are in Vic, so kinder is 15hrs/week. Then in 2021 he will go to official full time school (prep/reception/foundation) and grade 1 in 2022.

DD starts in 2020 as well. She did daycare kindy this year but wasn’t ready for prep so is doing another year of kindy but at a kindy place rather than daycare. She’s 4 (turning 5 at the end of June) so will be one of the oldest in her class in Qld.

Oh I mean offical school! I didn’t think about that, it’s different in every state lol so first official year of school.

DS is excited.. now. He was a mess before he did his transition days and now he’s super excited. He is in a class with his little bestie from daycare so they are excited for that! One of his other best mates has the same name and is in the other class, I think they were separated because of the same name lol.

Ds starts school this year. He is almost 6 and will also be one of the older ones. He's our only too.

I'm not sure whether he is excited...I think so. He's used to childcare.
