Default Bathing a newborn, how often do you bath baby?

As the title suggests, how often do you bath your newborn?

We always bathed nightly, but that was more a part of our family night routine rather than a physical need for a bath.

Yes this was what we did as well

I should also add we live somewhere that's hot most of the year and they were quite spewey as well so it was partly a necessity

Initially we only did every couple of days. Once we had more of a grip of the reality of having a baby, we moved into a nightly bath as part of a night time routine.

Every day with 1st baby as we had the time and energy and it was summer and she loved it.
Every 3-4 days with 2nd baby as I had a complicated c section so was difficult to manage and freezing cold and he didnt really enjoy it. Always gave him a clean around the privates with a warm facecloth once a day though.

Every 2-3 days until they start solids, but my babies were all born in the cooler weather. If it was warm they'd have bathed more often. Or also if they were spewey...

Every 3rd day as suggested by our pediatrician and midwives. Baby skin is better off not being washed too frequently (and we have twins so it was a lot of work).

Even now at 18 months our twins get bathed 2-3 times per week as we clean their hands and faces with a facewasher after every meal and their bottoms get cleaned with every nappy change

Also our pediatrician recommended no soap in the water but lather them up in sorbolene top to toe before you put them in the bath and then again after their bath. Our babies had beautiful skin!

Yes, I've never used soap or body wash, it dries their skin out. Just warm water is enough.

I had babies with eczema, (luckily grew out of it), so only bathed once every few days.
