    Default Recycling a mattress

Has anyone ever used a mattress recycling service in Melbourne, or otherwise found an organisation that is happy to accept used mattress? We are getting a new mattress, but don't want the old one to go to landfill. I understand many places don't want used mattresses for hygiene reasons of course. I have seen a few websites that offer to pick up the mattress for a fee, and then recycle the various parts. Just wondering if anyone has experience of any/can recommend one. I saw that some of the big bedding stores are affiliated with something called Soft Landing. I guess I just want to be sure they will do what they say they will, etc, bc the thought of it going to landfill upsets me.

    Thanks!

Some shops will take your old mattress away. Might be worth asking them.

Im not sure about Melbourne, but Salvos in my area are happy to take used mattresses as long as they are in good condition and not stained or anything. They even collect.
