    Default Low heart rate

    Hi there,

I went for a dating scan & bub measured at 6w1day with heart rate of 111bmp. Was told it was low & to have another scan in a week.
Anyone else experienced this with a positive outcome?

I don’t remember my LMP, it was around the beginning of October so I thought I was approx 8 weeks along.

    Any advice is appreciated.

Me! I knew my dates exactly. 1st scan at 6wks. HR 89. Scan at 7 wks 4 days and HR was 152. She’s now 5 years old
Your HB sounds fine for that gestation. May have only just started to beat. Good luck

For extra reassurance for u I just looked at my other DDs scans. They were 115bpm at 5wks6days and 114bpm at 6wks1day

    Thank you the reply.
I think my other concern is how my dates can be so out. I know I can not do anything & just have to wait until my scan, but I can’t help but wonder & google!

Maybe you ovulated later in your cycle than u think. What date did u get your first positive test? And have you had blood tests. What were your HCG levels?

I wasn’t tracking dates, but first positive was sometime between 6-8th November. I had my bloods drawn on the 13th November (I think) & my levels were 555.

Hubby was away for work the first half of October so I’m fairly certain we only did “it” a couple of times, the earliest being the 19th Oct (again, I think).

Still could fit within those dates. There r lots of positive stories on BubHub about dates and scans being out. Fingers crossed you see lots of growth and a lovely HB next week 🤞

Thank you so much the advice, I really do appreciate it.

Positive thinking for the week ahead.

If you have a moment, would you mind explaining how the date of the first pregnancy test fits in with it all?

    Default Low heart rate

I had crazy cycles with my 3rd and thought I was around 7-8 weeks for my first scan but was only just over 5.
I had some light spotting that cycle and wasn’t sure when I ovulated. At that point there wasn’t even a fetal pole. 2 weeks later she was visible.

111bpm at 6 weeks I would have thought was normal. I thought anything over 100 at that point was considered viable.

Also you can dtd 5 days before ovulation and still conceive. This happened with my 6th child. I knew the dates exactly.

Early on babies can measure up to a week out with size too. So you could be a little further on.
Hope everything turns out just fine.

We couldn't even see my first bub's HB until she was 8 weeks gestation! We couldn't see her, the yolk sac or the fetal pole until then either!

With this second bub we saw a HB of 112 at 6w5d. By 7w5d it was up to 155.

Both babies measured consistently a week behind despite us being sure of our dates - and there is no debating IVF dates! Both had caught up, or were ahead, by 8 1/2 weeks. If this is a natural conception it could just be that you ovulated later than you thought, or bub took longer to implant.

Also, if you have a tilted uterus (I do) it is not unusual to measure behind. It doesn't necessarily mean bub is small for dates - they just can't view things accurately due to the tilt. As the pregnancy progresses the uterus flips forward and voila, there is baby measuring back to date

ETA: Remember that we are dealing with a baby that measures a few millimetres at best. It is so easy to move 1mm either way and throw dates out by a week!
