    Default Chinese soup herbs ok?

My partner always buys these wonderful Chinese soup herbs packets to use in the chicken soup (ginseng, goji, special herbs sachet etc). Are these safe to eat? I am nauseous and he wanted to make chicken soup for me, but now we're not sure! Can't ask my mum in law because we're keeping it a secret still...

You would need to check the exact ingredients.

Thanks for the reply! Yes, absolutely, but I can’t find proper information on which herbs and spices are ok/not ok. Guess it’ll be a bland soup for me then!

I would say ginseng is not safe for pregnancy. I would just avoid most herbs really until you can get correct info on them.

You could make your own preggo safe herb mix. It probably tastes good due to extra salt in any case!

Give medicine line a call, they can advise on complementary medicines/herbs too. From memory I don’t think ginseng is a good idea in pregnancy.

Maybe just flavour with chinese rice wine, soy or fish sauce, ginger, garlic, and bok choy etc.

    Ph: 1300 medicine
