Default Please help name my daughter

I'm stuck between Zara or Phoebe. I prefer classic names but these are the only 2 we can really agree on. Any further suggestions?

They are both good names. Strong and feminine, I think. Are you leaning one way or another? Do you have a middle name that goes better with one, or does one go better with the surname you'll use? Perhaps you could wait to see her and see which one suits her more?

Thinking middle name May for my grandmother. I think why I'm stuck is that I'd prefer something like Harriet, Edith or Greta but husband really doesn't like these. I feel resigned to calling her Zara because that's his fave, which I did also used to think I wanted, but now is not feeling so pretty. Our beautiful girl is already here and unnamed!!

Don’t rush your choice and don’t let anyone else rush you. It’d be awful to have name regret just because you felt under pressure to choose a name.

FWIW I think both names are gorgeous but I particularly like Phoebe.

I think I like the name Phoebe more because I know a Zara and she gets called “Zarzie” which I’m not fond of.

Good luck. Please come back and let us know what you end up choosing.

I like Zara, I think it’s unique and strong. BUT don’t rush. I was nameless for 4 days as my mum said nothing seemed to suit then all of a sudden it came to them

definitely prefer zara out of the two options. i’ve always hated the name phoebe (sorry to any phoebe name lovers 🤷🏼‍♀️). it reminds me of amphibian for some reason.

    I like Zara too.
When I hear phoebe now I think of that lady from the show fleabag.

Your choices are lovely. Pity hubbie won't come round. As pp have said, there's no rush. It will come to you. Don't let anyone push you. She's your beautiful daughter so you get to name her when you are ready. How about another z name, Zoe? Or something different that neither of you has put forward, like Mabel (a bit old fashioned like some of your other choices, but also a bit different).

Do let us know what you choose. Good luck and enjoy those newborn snuggles.

I really like Zara. Both names are nice.
I also like Felicity which to me seems like an older name along with Harriet

Guys I've just thought of Georgia which I had previously ruled out due to hubby being a J sound and son also a J sound, but now it's appealing. I feel like this decision is going to break me. Zara or Georgia?
