    Default Laparoscopy

Hello ladies I am thinking to do a lap before next cycle and just wondering what would insurance cover?? I have medibank top cover so I know hospital costs would be covered but notsure about Doctor and anaesthetic costs. If you had done a lap could you please share your experience. Thanks

I also have Medibank top cover and had a laparoscopy a couple of months ago. I paid $250 excess for hospital stay and then received my bill with out of pocket expenses after private health being around $1000. I was surprised it was so much!

I will add, that was for a laparoscopy, hysteroscopy, dye test, removal of endo and Pap smear...

Depends on what your surgeon charges as a gap. Iโ€™m in SA and my gap was $600 to him and $100 for my anaesthetic. No hospital excess as have top cover. So all in all $700 out of pocket in total.

When you do have it done wait a few months for your cycles to be regular and you never know you may end up pregnant naturally. Like I did after countless rounds of stabbing myself for ivf
