    Default Short luteal phase

I was testing my ovulation this month and my luteal phase was 8 days. I know it was short when I conceived my son too, about the same if I recall correctly.

We’ve just started TTC our second and we’re unsuccessful this month, I’m on CD1 now.

I’m wanting to conceive as quickly as possible, my son is almost 2 and I’m not getting any younger. I’ve done some reading and I’m thinking vitex sounds good, anything else I can do? And when do I take vitex, just during the luteal phase?

You should take vitek every day before breakfast.

Thank you. Took today before breakfast

I saw a doctor today to see what my options were, she didn’t know what a luteal phase was despite having “family planning” listed in her specialities

She also said if I ovulate day 21, I should have sex days 20-26 because the egg survives 5 days

I think we will try with the vitex a few cycles and if we’re not having luck I’ll see someone who knows what they’re talking about.

    Default Short luteal phase

The egg doesn’t survive 5 days. Sperm can in some cases. What a silly gp lol. I’d have sex every 36 hrs from cycle day 17

Yep I know, I didn’t bother trying to educate her, as soon as she said that I thought yep, you know nothing, I need to get outta here.

Will try the mega B as well, thanks

Vitamin b6 helped my luteal phase, I usually have a 10 - 11 day LP. With DD I fell pregnant the 2nd month of taking it. The first month it extended my LP by 1 day.

Lovely. I’ve been taking B6 for a few days days now along with the vitex. I’ve also cut out alcohol completely and replaced it with kombucha and I’m trying to get in a walk every day (have missed a few with the rain!). Probably eating too much chocolate still but making some healthy changes so
