    Default Show me your placenta!

I find them absolutely fascinating. I didn't see mine with DD1. I had it removed in theatre and fell asleep. DD2 I looked but didn't snap a pick. DS I had DF take a pic for me.

I don’t have any photos of mine, I have a lot of photos of others peoples though (from working as a placenta encapsulator). I didn’t see the first 3. Dd4s the midwife showed me as she was checking it over to make sure it was complete. Dd5 I took home and encapsulated it, we didn’t know until she was born that it was a marginal cord insertion. It was pretty awesome to see. Ds’s placenta was absolutely massive, and his cord was super thick but I didn’t really get a good look at them. I wish I’d gotten photos

that’s dd’s placenta, showing marginal cord insertion. it weighed 665g and was apparently not the typical round shape.

and that’s ds’ placenta, weighing 883g.

Didn’t get pics of any of mine

Both Ds2/dd had coed blood/cells collected. By fluke I had the same lady each time. She showed me Ds2 quite fast and it was half gone already. She best described it to me at half drained min e meat. Crackers me up a bit. Dd hers waa completely healthy. Big and fat this time.

Oh wow! These are so fascinating! I don’t have a photo of mine, but my midwife did say it was the smallest she had seen. From memory, I think it was just under 300 grams. It was small, but it did the job!
