    Default Toddler bed

Help! DD1 (2y3m) has become a shocking sleeper and we are thinking about moving her into a bed so we can at least lay with her at night and hopefully get some sleep.

So tell me about how you moved your little one into a bed? We are thinking along single or double. What should I know?

When I moved our 2 into beds , I took them shopping to choose the linen and make it their room. I also think a single bed is better unless her room is big. My 2 didn’t get double beds until they were teenagers .

We used a bed rail as well which stopped them rolling out of bed.

    Good luck with the transition

We went with a King Single for our kids and I could easily lay with them when needed.
I just got a bed rail and let them pick the bedding.
When I made the bed I would do mattress protector then fitted sheet then mattress protector and fitted sheet so those late noght accidents I didn't need to make a bed.

That's honestly all we did. They were climbing out of the cot at that stage so where fine with the bed.

We got single beds for ours, but if I had my time over, I would have gotten them King Singles, simply because there were plenty of times when I had to lay in bed with them and it would have been way more comfortable. At the time, I was conscious of maximising floor space and didn't want their beds taking up too much room.

I got both kids double beds. We coslept and I still regularly end up in bed with DD. That way I get sleep. Also they never slept in a cot. So no transition needed.

We went with a king single. It's pretty big and means we can lay next to DD for books at night.
We had already taken the side off the cot, so it wasn't too much of a transition. When we took the cot side off, We put a rolled up towel under the sheet on the cot, and added an Ikea bed tent to the cot to make it harder to roll out out of.

    Default Toddler bed

We went with a king single for DD at 2.5yrs. She’s now 3 & loves her bed. We went with this as she wasn’t a great sleeper so we were able to lay with her if need be & read books every night as we do. We went shopping & she picked out what she wanted. We have a bed rail, just in case.
We too had already taken the side off her cot so the transition wasn’t a huge thing as she was kind of used to it. Goodluck x

I went with a single as I already had a (very expensive) single mattress. Otherwise would have probably gone for a king single. I figure the single should last DD until she’s 10ish and then I’ll get her a queen.

all our older 3 are in king single beds. moved them in around 2yrs. we chose that size to fit nicely in their rooms with room to play and for us to fit laying down with them if needed

Ds1 went straight to a king single. I let him pick out his sheets and quilt cover. Thomas the tank engine it was. KS gave me room to lay with him plus he’s not a short kid so a bit of extra space is good for him
