    Default Book Week

Is everyone excited for Book Week?

DD is in her first year of school, so my first book week. I had great plans - I love books and sewing/craft so it seemed perfect. However DDs teacher decided it would be a class theme. Each child drew a sea creature out of a hat for the class ‘Commotion under the ocean’. DD picked lobster. I’m not that excited anymore.

    How is everyone’s costumes going?

Oh no, I would be so disappointed! I start talking to the kids about book week at the end of term 2! This year did has decided to go as Billie B Brown who she has recently started reading, the one she picked is bad butterfly and we have a tutu already and I got a white shirt she can draw a big B on the front. My 4 year old is doing book week at preschool too and her current obsession is how to train your dragon so I have suggested she goes as toothless (even though we don’t have the books, I’ll be stricter next year on book). We have dragon wings and a tail already and we will make her a hat which I got the supplies for yesterday.

DD wants to go as Moana, she has the Moana book so I guess it’s ‘book’ related... I took the easy option and bought the costume.

Ds1 was going to wear his onesie now he wants to wear his footy gear. He’s never been fussed about it. Last year he went as Olaf

Would your DD fit this? Yes it’s a pet costume (!) but it could be modified

Cute. She might be a bit big. I’ve been busy with felt today, so came up with something - just not as interesting as it could have been.

Was Book week for Ds1 today. DS2's on Wednesday.
But he had a great morning and school parade.
Easiest costume request I have had so far.
    Yellow shirt + Fabric tape.IMG_20190819_074251_353.jpg

DS's parade is on Friday. He is Professor Poopypants from Captain Underpants.

I managed to find a brown suit and bowtie with a yellow shirt. Glasses need to be made too.

I sewed a 'cap' thing and have glued 2 cone foam shapes and have been gluing hobby fill stuff as hair. It's drying atm and I may spray with super hold hair spray too.

His mo/eyebrows are a work in progress. First try is a fail but I have a few other ideas.
