    Default Transfer rituals

Driving to the hospital for our 6th transfer, and I have my “baby making” underwear on, and my wife and I have “Pour Some Sugar on Me” blaring in the car.

What are your rituals, other than the usual Maccas fries?

I put some stand up comedy on Spotify to listen to on the trip home... based on that one study that said laughter after transfer increased success (they had a clown come in).

I always do the fries, not always Maccas though!

I always tried the laughing too @Risa78 - I thought it had to be immediately after transfer though. (Thankfully?) I have this habit of cracking jokes (which mostly only I find funny) when I'm nervous, so I guess I played the role of the patient and the clown....

My only successful transfer (out of 9 full cycles), was one where I did everything ‘wrong’. I cried through the whole transfer, then drove 2 hours to a party. At the party I had a drink or 2 and stayed out too late. The doctor had told me that the embryo quality was terrible and not worth transferring and that I should forget about the cycle and come back next month. DD just turned 6.

Honestly, for my successful transfers I've always just headed home after transfer and had a chill out day or two of just lazying about the house.

I always go for a walk afterwards and I make a habit of talking to them straight away. My wife drives me home after transfer and it's become an accidental ritual to talk to bub about the car trip home and apologise for mum's bumpy driving.

I was hungover from a Christmas party for my last transfer, felt awful and vomited when I got home. The embryos were so “poor” he put 2 in. They are now 3 week old twins!!

None of my after IVF transfer rituals (watching funny shows on Netflix, pineapple core etc) ever worked. My BFP cane from our first and only IUI when I was hungover from international margarita day the night before and was almost late to the IUI

Me too! The only time I think I’m a comedian is when my knees are open up in the air for the room to see everything!

The nurse in the transfer room told me to go home and have a drink/shot to relax me.
My fs tells me to to live as usual, just remember to take my folate
