Hi, sorry it’s been taking awhile.

Your best bet may be to get a referral to a fertility specialist from your GP (make sure this covers both you and your partner). They can run tests on you both to help identify what may be going on. And depending on diagnosis there’s a few steps they can explore before IVF, eg ovulation induction to give you more certainty over timing etc.

A few things to get checked out could be possible PCOS (due to irregular periods) and endometriosis (based on heavy periods).

    Best of luck!

I agree with getting a check up to see what might be going on.

I just wanted to say though that I always had irregular, painful and heavy periods from when I was about 15.
My cycles were usually 40-45 days long with the odd one at 32 days.
I really didn’t have any trouble conceiving my kids. I conceived 3 of them with no clue when I was ovulating even.
Two I tried for when breastfeeding and that took longer and one was a complete surprise.
Just so you know that even with irregular periods you can still get pregnant but for sure look into it.
I have since been casually diagnosed with either endometriosis or adenomyosis but since my baby days are behind me I am now on the bc pill and my periods are normal.
