Default Slow rising HCG will it be ok?

I have a bt last Tuesday and HCg results were 4000 and something. Thursday they were only 6374. The midwife said they like to see levels double- which it had been up until this point. When do the levels stop doubling? just wondering if I’ve got a miscarriage ahead of me?

Hiya I found this info super reassuring at the beginning of my pregnancy. Think I was 1500 at 6+1 and 2600 at 6+4. Just squeezed into these guidelines and I’m currently 37+4. Will keep everything crossed for you. I think could definitely still be alright.

I am 18 weeks pregnant. I had 5 lots of hcg tests done (IVF conception). My hcg levels did not even once double in 48 hours. I was told it was a likely miscarriage or ectopic, but turns out it was completely fine.

I find hcg levels so stressful and they are actually not that helpful. There is such a wide range of what constitutes "normal". At your level a scan would be a much more accurate way to determine what is going on. Is it possible for you to book an ultrasound?

Thanks @hollypolly. Today is hopefully my last bt then a scan next week. I’ve had a few miscarriages and have low progesterone so have had bloods to monitor that now I’m on pessaries. I find it stressful too, every pregnancy! So much so that I nearly didn’t try for another baby because of it. Hopefully the results from today are ok and then I’ll see my OB for a scan next week
