Default Any Intermittent Fasters out there in BH land?

    Hi all!

I am a 39 year old mum of three boys and am currently well over a healthy weight. I started at 107kgs and am now down to 99.5kg in 3 months.

I have been doing intermittent fasting and wondered if anyone else out there who follows an IF lifestyle. I should be combining my fasts with a low carb/high fat diet but haven’t got there yet.

I started by doing 16:8 and have found that too easy so have moved to 18:6. I stop eating around 8pm or so at night then don’t eat again until around 2pm, sometimes later. I feel about a thousand percent better doing this as well as losing weight.

Any other IF hubbers out there?

I’m doing Fast 800 at the moment, I haven’t been doing it long. So it’s 800 calories per day and I’m doing it over an 7 hr period (so 17 hr fast). I have an early lunch of 300 calories and early dinner of about 400 calories (no breakfast). The other 100 calories is for milk in my tea and coffee. In terms of ‘diets’ it’s pretty easy.

Thanks so much babyno1onboard! I’ve never heard of Fast 800. What kinds of things do you eat for your 800 calories? Have you lost any weight this way?

I agree I find it and easy and convenient way to lose weight and it works so well for me!

My husband has been on intermittent fasting for years. Last meal around 8 or 9pm, then he won't have anything but coffee until 1-2 pm. He can't give up coffee lol. He is 41 y/o and maintained his weight at 72-74 kgs for the past 5 years. He eats a lot for lunch and dinner, always has desserts so i think fasting works for him. No rebound weight gain too.

Ive done it before i fell pregnant, before my frozen embryo transfer just so to lessen my weight before getting pregnant. Last meal around 8pm then nothing til about 11 am. This is combined with low carb diet (can't do total keto). I lost about 4 kgs in 6 weeks. Not too bad considering i still enjoyed drinking out and snacking all afternoon.

Congratulations on your weight loss! Hope you keep us updated with your progress.

Only 1kg so far. I’m not overweight so it will take longer to loose. I’m following the Fast 800 Facebook page and people are getting great results. The food is low-ish carb. It’s based on the book by Michael Mosley.

Wow that’s a great achievement by your husband! I hope I can stick to it for the long term. I’ve never found anything that I could stick to long term so I hope this will be it for me.

I will do my best to update as I go

That’s an awesome achievement, well done! I started doing keto around this time last year, introducing IF (16/8) about 3 weeks into it and managed to lose almost 10kg in just under 3 months so it definitely works for me and I felt great. Good luck for the rest of your journey!

Just an update for those who replied to my post!

I am down to 94.5kgs and feeling fantastic I’m also walking every day and adding some swimming in as well. Still going with 18:6 and it’s working well for me.

Need to keep it up as I’d like to get under 80kgs!

My DP has just started the Fast800 online program, which encourages intermittent fasting/time restricted eating (TRE) along with 800 cals and Mediterranean diet.
It's full on, but she lost 5kg on the first week to get her started! This week is much less, but plateaus are to be expected. Her goal is 15kg over the 12 weeks.
