    Default Combined trigger (Ovidrel/Decapeptyl)

    Hey ladies!

I’ve been around the ivf circle a wee while now and have just switched to a new specialist. She has put me on a short flare cycle which starts with 3 days of Decapeptyl, then continues with Gonal F (150 units) until ready for collection.

This all seems pretty normal to me but the one thing I’d never heard of before was using a dual trigger mix? She has given me two triggers of ovidrel and Decapeptyl and says it’s to help with my egg quality.

Has anyone else had this before and had success?

I’m willing to give anything a go at this point but would be great to hear how others have gone.

    Hi hun,
I am in a same boat. After 5 cycles we only had two grade 2 embryos to transfer and rest all were grade 3. We transferred anyway but no success. I just changed fs and she mentioned dual trigger as well. Have you had any success with that?? Did you get any frozen,? Thanks

    Hey hun!
Well it definitely worked for us; we got 15 top grade embryos in that cycle. The short flare and dual trigger (decapeptyl and ovidrel) was to protect my eggs more than anything. I was also taken off all androgens (DHEA and Androfeme) and taking melatonin, CoQ10 and N-Acetyl Cystine (NAC).

DH was also taking clomid for 3 months prior which I think made all the difference for us.

It ended as a freeze all cycle as I overstimmed (again) with 34 eggs collected and we are just about to do our first FET with a hatching 5 day blast

Hope it works as well for you! Xx

That’s amazing how a change in protocol leads to different results 🤔 Can I ask you where did you buy inositol from and which brand? How long you did NAC for? Thanks

So amazing right? Who would have thought!
The brand of inositol powder was Polliquin. It’s cheap but the shipping is rediculous so it’s better to buy in bulk.

I took NAC for only a month prior!

Hey that sounds amazing I’m in a bit of a similar situation, my husband has extremely low sperm count and I’ve got mild PCOS (with no symptoms other than high AMH.

We just had our first icsi procedure in August-September where we had 18 eggs retrieved, 13 mature, and 11 fertilised. Unfortunately when it came to day 5 none were actually good enough to be frozen except 1 that turned out to be a BFN.

We had our check up with the FS around 2 weeks ago and she believes that both sperm and eggs were of poor quality, she is unsure whether I naturally have poor egg quality or if it could be bc of the protocol I was on. She decided in the next round we will have gonal 85 rather than gonal 100.

I just wanted to ask you if you would be able to tell me what kind of protocol you were on and what the FS recommended as I’m not feeling too confident in our second icsi procedure that is due to start in about a week
So far DH is on coQ10, folic acid, zinc, selenium, fenugreek and vitamin B (definitely driving him a bit crazy lol)
And I’m only taking folic acid atm
