Am I the only one totally horrified by this? How does a woman end up with embryos from 2 other women? Imagine getting through a twin pregnancy only to have to give your babies away?

Omg the whole time I was reading that, my heart was aching for the family that had to give up their twins.

I’ve been following this for a few days when the story broke. It would completely destroy a couple beyond any form of repair mentally emotionally and physically

To go through what a lot of us have gone through to then carry and birth our children only for them to be taken away to never see them again. All holes destroyed of having a family gone all because of the biggest F up known to man kind

I would now suspect all parents that have been through this clinic will be wanting DNA testing to see if their children are actually there’s.

I know when I had had embies put in whether fresh or frozen I was alway shown the paper work and vials used to cross reference that they where actually mine

pretty epic eff up! how awful for the couple who thought they were welcoming twins only to discover the babies belonged to 2 other couples and they walk away empty handed. shockingly negligent on the clinic’s part.

Yes. They would show me paperwork and vials. It’s not even like it was just one wrong embryo but 2 completely different ones. So multiple mistakes and one of the biological parents had an embryo implanted which can’t have been hers either.

I wonder if the birth parents weren’t Korean if it would have been picked up. Which then makes me wonder how often things like this are missed.

was just going to say the same. maybe its almost better not to know?

eta: could turn up a few surprises later on in life, especially from a health/hereditary conditions perspective.
