    Default Septum anyone?

Does anyone have/had a septum and then had it surgically removed?

Yes, I had a uterine septum but had it removed on recommendation from a gynaecologist prior to ttc.

My uterus is also bicornuate (heart shaped).

    Happy to answer any questions.

    Thanks for responding!

I had a MMC and D&c two weeks ago which was how they discovered the septum.

How long was your septum? Mine’s 5cm and I’m getting a hysteroscopy electrosurgery later this month to have it removed. I’m really anxious and worried that there’s going to be scar tissue or problems with the surgery How was your experience?

Sorry to hear about your MMC

I'm not sure how long the septum was, but it pretty much divided my uterus in two. It was discovered when I had surgery to remove some endometriosis.

Procedure was no biggie - I was quite ill in recovery, but that was anaesthetic related. It was only day surgery and no complications afterwards.

I've had one pregnancy and one child, who is now 8.

Thank you so much for sharing! You’ve made me feel so much better and I hope I can be as successful as you after the surgery!
